Loki gave us a Christmas present

Loki Gave us a Christmas present

Dear readers,

I hadn't logged into this blog for a while. While we've gotten a word-wide pause, it seemed like I've also got caught into a 'writing-pause' as there were other things and situations that came on my path. In March I've shared several 2020 memes, but I don't want to speak all negative of 2020, it does gave me something good. As from September I've found a job in an office I feel very welcome at! 😊 But yes, I think for everyone 2020 was/is a weird year. Instead of our yearly dose of films and series, we've got something less pleasant. Something that, if I look back to the whole year, for me really starts to look like a real life film. 2020 became a year beyond our predictions. Last year on the last day of December I said 2020 is going to be great year with concerts and a trip to Glastonbury within sight for me. This year I'm not going to say things like: "2021 will be..", I'm probably wrong anyway. But one thing I do know what 2021 is going to bring us, that is something I need to make sure I have to fix myself a Disney+ subscription for again! The Loki Series!

Loki Series Trailer (!):

"What did you expect?" Well Loki, I hadn't expect to see a trailer of your series after waking up on December, 11th! "Glorious!"  Yeah, indeed glorious! An early Christmas gift from Marvel Studios to us Loki fans. I saw a lot in that trailer, a lot of flashes, Loki grins, Tom Hiddleston playing Loki to play Tom Hiddleston, Vote Loki for president; short said: a lot to progress in my mind haha! Spoken of Loki for president, I've posted the comic version as a joke on my social media's during the American Election. I'm not from America, but given the choices, I think I rather had Loki.. The Loki Series trailer looks very promising, I am looking forward to it and I will definitely subscribe to Disney+ again in April 2021! What are your thoughts about the trailer?

Earth At Night In Color:

Of course there hasn't been much Tom Hiddleston content this year, but spoken of the last couple of weeks, also an exclusive preview of AppleTV+'s series Earth At Night In Color which is narrated by Tom was released! And as icing on the cake it was a cute clip of bears having a pool party! Since I've got everything Android here, I probably won't see much of this beautiful project. Although, I do have to face the fact that my phone probably won't survive many years and I need a new one eventually. Could this be my motivation to switch? I do love Wild Animal documentaries. 😊

More info about Earth At Night In Color can be found here.

"There’s less traffic, less people are using the public transport and there’s less air traffic because worldwide flights are cancelled. But, guess what: earth keeps on turning! Perhaps you’re thinking, why does she keep using this sentence? I can explain. The things I’ve summed up above, I think aren’t all bad at all. Life on earth started many billions years ago and ever since then she has given herself to the many creatures of various shapes and sizes who were she has granted a house to. From single-celled organisms to dinosaurs, mammals and our ancestor, the great ape. For decades, Mother Earth has been begging for our attention, has she literally trying to shake us as a wake-up call and has she shred her tears and showed her anger in the shape of giant cataclysms. Sadly by the largest group of the world’s population, these calls hardly or do not come through. I'm not saying that abstaining things a month or so will do much, but now we have the opportunity to see what really matters and to make the oh so needed changes!

Earth connects. Animals, plants, our fellow residents, from our neighbors to the people on the other side of the world. Shortly said, all who’re breathing in the same air are connected. It might feel like we’re all so far apart now, especially when now borders close in more and more countries. Still, the words is connected, now more than ever. To feel and experience this connection Mother Earth is asking us to remember who we truly are and to let go of what no longer belongs to us. To respect each other, to stop the judgments among us. We all need each other because together we are one! One unit. Now the moment has come. To let our natural light shine, to let powerful positive thoughts flow that’ll fulfill our dreams."

The text above I have quoted from my blogpost Earth Keeps on Turning from last March. Now, more than half a year further we probably all have had to deal with a (partly) second lockdown once again. While there's less air-traffic, if seeing from our country, I can't say the same about road-traffic. People are more and more working less from home, it's cold outside so people rather take the car than their bicycle. Well, I hope we can all think a little bit more of our earth because all tiny bits helpπŸ’š.

Stay healthy & safe everyone, dream of Tom, fantasize of Loki and:

Happy Holidays πŸŽ„πŸŽ…!!

Wakanda Forever!

 R.I.P. Chadwick Boseman (1976-2020)

I'm deeply shocked, the news of Chadwick's passing was the first thing I read this morning. I want to share my condolences to his family, his friends and to everyone who loved and knew him!

Chad inspired so many people. Black Panther was a masterpiece and than to think Chad was already battling this disease while portraying King T'Challa and he visited children who suffered from this disease also. Chad was a true hero and the loss of him is heavy! He will be forever missed and will never be forgotten!

He's an Angel in heaven now.

March / April 2020 birthdays

March / April 2020 birthdays

Having your birthday in March 2020, that was quite to be called a strange or unique period. Also add April, many countries are still in a (semi) lock down and the measures for our country have been extended to April, 28th. How is it like to have your birthday in this period? Having a birthday party like you’re perhaps used of probably isn’t going to happen, at least not in this period. I had my birthday on the 30th of March and in my case, I really had no need for a great celebration in this period.

My birthday was on a Monday, thanks to the leap year, so let me go back in time here. A year ago I already had decided to celebrate my birthday on the Sunday before. The fact that the leap year was skipping Sunday for me so that my birthday will be on the least pleasant day of the week, did not came over to me as a blessing.. I immediately knew: Monday the 30th is going to be just a normal day for me.

I want to thank everyone for the lovely birthday messages! 😊
Red Tom Hiddleston image from Hiddlestoners FB Group.

There wasn’t really anything going on in our country in the first two weeks of March, the news hadn’t really hit us yet. So I had the beer for my birthday bought already. Then when the measures came, I knew I couldn’t celebrate my birthday. That was before the 3 persons & social distance measure came, but like I said: it just didn’t feel right. Also I realized that it didn’t meant I couldn’t do anything. I just needed to be a little creative and that I am. Everyone not part of our own household I sent a message about the cancelling. But to have a bit of a nice weekend, I filled the weekend with smaller things. I knew it wasn’t possible to meet up with all people who’d normally came to my birthday, better to take the safe before the unsafe, but I ‘selected’ a few people who I wanted and COULD see. On Saturday night I had a Disney Plus movie night with my two best friends. We watched Frozen 2, which was added to Disney Plus earlier because of the Corona crisis and did a small movie quiz (one my friend had gifted me for my birthday.) And because we’re still in the mood for another movie after that, we watched the original Winnie the Pooh film. It had been years ago since I last saw that film and it still amazes me how the old classic Disney movies were put together. I especially enjoyed to see the moments again in where the characters were going from page to page and when Tigger could go down by using the letters of the page as a help tool, the interactions between the characters and the writer/storyteller. I think the main reason I got inspired to watch the Pooh film was because of the Teddy Bear (because of the children still have a little healthy thing to do in the fresh air now that they can’t go to day-care/school or play on playgrounds) hunt that are now organized in many countries. From our window Winnie the Pooh and Paddington are on the watch, and if the kids are lucky they’ll see a bonus ‘plush’ namely our Labrador.

On Sunday, the day I was actually going to celebrate my birthday, I enjoyed a small brunch with my family (household) and on the background all kinds of my favourite music was playing. In the afternoon we had home baked cake and in the evening we toasted with wine (or beer). It was a great day and for me that was enough. I doesn’t need to be so extensive year after year. Also my wallet was happy with that, since my 30th birthday is next year!

And then it was Monday, my actual birthday. Like I said, this was more likely a normal day. I’ve had my birthday weekend. Did I still feel like it was my birthday on Monday? Yes and no. I appreciated all happy birthday wishes, when I read them I really felt like it was my birthday. On the other side, also a part of me did not have that feeling. That hadn’t anything to do with the corona virus by the way. Some birthday wishes had “Despite of corona” in them, but honestly, the whole weekend I’d let go of that, hadn’t given it much attention and had my focus on the positive things (everything that gets attention grows, remember). (There was another private reason) But it just was fine the way it was. I did some writing, was able to watch an episode of one of my favourite tv shows: Hawaii Five-0 (sadly in America this weekend the series finale will air, sad to see this ending!), enjoyed a glass of wine (it was still open from the day before). All very casual, cosy and that was all I desired for a birthday!

I mentioned Hawaii Five-0 above. It was the episode 10x15, one I truly enjoyed to watch (just like the one from last week that was more focused on Eddie the Labrador, even though that one was a bit sad). Here's a video of the end scene of this episode I was talking about. Now tell me, perhaps without knowing the show, do these two sound like a married couple or not? 😏 (Even Eddie the dog sees thatπŸ˜‰)

That was it for today,

I hope you all stay safe! And for everyone who has a birthday coming: Happy birthday and make the best out of it!

Healthy greet & digital hugs,

x

Memories/Looking back: March 2019

Memories/Looking back: March 2019

For this blog's first anniversary (February, 10th) I did a blog post in which I talked about posts I posted in February 2019, shared memories. I also said that it could be an idea to do this monthly, around the 10th of the month (for that month 2019). Due the current circumstances that slipped my mind the 10th, and now I thought it would be nice to still do, only a little later. During these times of staying inside, more time for writing and reading are created and looking back at beautiful Tom/Loki memories always is a great thing to focus on!

I wrote 10 blogs for March 2019, an amount I cannot reach for this March anymore unless I would write more blogs per day.. I've sift through the March 2019's blogs and man.. Where I've wrote a lot about Tom/Loki in February, I didn't in March.. Perhaps it was a bit quiet around him in March before the opening of Betrayal? But as to be read in my header, Goddess of Loki is not a news blog (I make exceptions every now and then) but a personal blog. Mostly I'm sharing the news via Instagram & Facebook.

Let's share a few blogposts of March 2019:

The month got kicked off by a blog about Carnaval, something similar like Halloween (only than less scary & the dressing up & partying continues for 5 days in a row. This year I wore my Angel outfit with a purple wig, as purple is a highly spiritual colour. It really took me a while to get into the fun time this year, I notice every year I'm less and less looking forward to the Carnaval. But it remains a lovely tradition and I had a lot of fun the last two days. A storm was expected for the Sunday, so Sunday's activities got postponed to Monday.

On my personal Facebook page (Dutch) I was planning of writing a post about the Carnaval as well because this year's carnaval is now a month ago. In the past month so much has changed that it feels like it was much longer ago. It's almost unthinkable that a month ago we all stood so close to each other, partying with 1000+ people.. while now for our own safety we are taking distance from each other and events/meetings with more than 3 people are cancelled. It's a strange, strange world.. It seems that this year's carnaval caused more trouble than it did good, because the only two provinces of our country that celebrate it (Noord Brabant & Limburg, the one I'm living in), relatively have the most COVID_19 infections. If you ask me, there's a chance that these kind of big events are no longer responsible in the future. Who knows, we'll see. Health always comes first and the memories we will cherish!

This was a little news blog when it got announced that Disney Plus first arrived in the Netherlands. I wrote: "According to insiders, Disney + is coming to the Netherlands this year!" No lie there, Disney Plus arrived here in October and they offered a free period of a month before the streaming service device went live for real in several countries (don't know all exact countries) on November the 12th. We were able to test the device, however I did not used it much (that's why I cancelled mine in December) because of time and because of that there was no app for my TV. I read that still not all TVs or providers are supporting the app, I hope that has changes before the Loki Series comes because then I definitely re-subscribe!

Sadly there're no new movies to review this March and probably for April too, because of the corona-crisis all movies have postponed. And that's for the best because it's not necessary for anyone to risk their health. If you ask me, last year was a great movie year. Captain Marvel, Dumbo, Aladdin, Endgame and my personal winner: Joker. I just re-read my Captain Marvel review and since Tom Hiddleston is my huge inspiration, I do take my chance of mentioning him where I can. So I also did that in my Captain Marvel review, read below the first part of this review:

"Men, beware! Also in the film-industry, the women are after a take-over, so it looks. We will most definitely see it happening in this year’s superheroes films. After the Marvel male related superheroes such as Thor, Iron Man, Captain America & Black Panther, now it‘s up to actress Brie Larson (In my Dutch review I couldn't resist on mentioning here that she‘s also known for the movie Kong: Skull Island in which my favorite Marvel actor Tom Hiddleston has a big role. Even if we will see Loki in Endgame, I know he‘s one of the characters I can‘t mention for my Endgame review..) to crawl into the skin of a superhero: Captain Marvel! Also, later this year Marvel will release the movie: ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’ which will also be dominated by (not all heroes) female characters. Talked about this: We've seen it at DC too with ‘Wonder Woman’, earlier ‘Catwoman’ and the ‘Supergirl’ show (from which was made a movie in the 80s and apparently there are plans for a new Supergirl film). I thought it was very accurate for me to go see ‘Captain Marvel on International Women’s Day! However, if you just look at the title, you might just not directly assume it concerns a woman. When a few years ago I first got crossed with the title ‘Captain Marvel’, before knowing any details, I assumed it would be a male character. (No, ain’t really a comics-reader..) Funny thing I recently read in a blog titled ‘Everything you need to know about the new Captain Marvel film!’ from Wilson Worldwide Productions (Award-winning Film & TV production company which I am following on Instagram), that the character originally was a man!"

No Captain Marvel Photo here, I choose to add a photo
of both Tom & Brie in Kong: Skull Island instead.

4. Avengers / X-Men Crossover (Fanfiction I wrote)

Here I shared the first three chapters of this Avengers / X-Men Crossover fanfiction I wrote, if you want to read it, you need to click the link. It also links to the story on wattpad (also posted on other fanfiction sites) where you can find more chapters. I must say I haven't had much inspiration for this story ever since, so I'm afraid I haven't updated it much.. Also I don't know if what's in the blog is up to date (edits).

Summary story:

This is a crossover with the characters Charles Xavier, Magneto & the Wolverine of Marvel‘s X-Men (First Class). The characters of the Avengers series are: Loki, Thor, Tony Stark & Bucky Barnes. From the Guardians of the Galaxy I added Rocket & Teenage Groot.

Charles Xavier has called the Asgardian Gods and Logan to protect his 'powerful' twin sister Charlene, against the God Apocalypse. Meanwhile Magneto made a team out of Tony Stark, Bucky Barnes & the two smallest members of the Guardians of the Galaxy to go join them.

Does this blogpost need any more explanation? Exactly what I thought a year ago, because I wrote:

"No headline. A photo strong like this one, doesn't need an extra headliner. Emma & Jerry holding hands and Robert with his head down a little afar from them. The feeling, the emotions. What a small photo can do."

Above is a edit I made and sent as a card to the theatre. It has a few of the photo's made by Marc Brenner, obviously the theme of this blogpost, in it. Relive your memories!

Oh this was such an inspiring piece of radio! Tom talked about what he listened to for the role of Loki and he also mentioned other stunning film music like Chariots of Fire! I write a lot about music too, did a Top 2000 blog in December but this blog definitely can use more posts about music. To gain positivity on Facebook's timeline, I'm currently doing a music ABC on my personal page. Perhaps when I'm finished, I can share the whole list here. I can give you today's song:

Three photo's with one line:  "The only posts that matters today:" It was the day Tom posted Loki's Endgame picture on his social media! My heart almost stopped that day!

This blogpost about Dutch Comic Con was my first (and only for the moment) Comic Con experience. Oh where I said that this year's Dutch Comic Con was still happening (as a response of Boston's Con got cancelled), only with a few extra corona rules, they still had to cancel it after all (postponed to July as it seems now). Not only because of the many guests couldn't come due Trump's travel-ban, our country also announced a event-ban from March to June. Just like the Carnaval, in the current times, an event like Comic Con (& the crowded trains -due defect trains- during the ride home we experienced last year!) now totally seem so unreal and irresponsible.

I just mentioned that I'm doing a music ABC on my personal Facebook page. On the 24th of this month it was the letter C. I chose for the Corrs with the song Breathless, a song that always reminds me of the episode (3x21) of Charmed in where Prue turns into a dog to track down her sister Phoebe who had turned into a Banshee (see video below). When Prue turns back to herself (end of the episode) you'll hear this song. When I hear this song it takes me back to my great memories of Charmed and especially to Shannen Doherty, who portrayed Prue in the series. I met her at Dutch Comic Con 2019 and on the 24th of March it was exactly one year ago. I found it beautiful that on this date exact, it was the turn to post a song from a artist with the letter C. I don't believe in coincidence and like Prue used to say in the series a lot: "Everything happens for a reason."

I have experienced my photo op & meeting with Shannen in the autograph line as a really lovely experience. Shannen is a warm, kindhearted person and I admire her for her strength. Over the years she has inspired me and many people over the entire world and among others did she let hear her voice for animal rights. Here's a line about Shannen's Panel that I wrote in my blogpost from 2019:

"One person told her how much she admired her for how open she was during the time of her disease (something similar I wrote in the letter) and asked her if she had any tips for someone who went through it right now."

Shannen's Q&A truly was worth every word and it was amazing to see her interaction with fans. She shared how she went through her breast cancer and shared that people shouldn't lose hope, shouldn't give up. Also Shannen has always been very open about her disease on social media. I remember that she posted a very emotional video in where her hair got shaved off. You have to be a very strong person to share a video of a vulnerable moment like that. I've really got a lot of respect for this! And indeed, I've always seen Shannen as a strong, independence woman and that's also how I experienced seeing her at Dutch Comic Con. It truly broke my heart when I found out that now her cancer has returned, in a crucial 4th stadium. The whole world is now fighting the same enemy, the same disease, namely the coronavirus, but let us also think of the people who also have to fight against other persistent diseases!

Shannen, meeting you was an experience I shall never forget. Thank you for all the love, fun, light & strength you have brought to this worldπŸ’“. I wish you and your family a lot of strength, light and lots of love!

I will keep on cherishing this moment alwaysπŸ’™

Hereby I'll end this blogpost,

for everyone:

Stay safe & strong, stay home, hand out a helpful hand to the people who need it, be kind for each other, lighten the earth and don't loose faith!

xx

Earth Keeps On Turning

Dear readers,

We were already connected due the one person that has inspired us in so many ways: Tom Hiddleston. I feel that now we are all connected more than ever while we all have to go through a not so fine period, are all fighting the same enemy. I've had my first stay-home week last week. Awareness slowly arrived within the week and I did what I could, offered my grandma help for groceries so that she was able to stay home safe. Writing has helped me before in not to loose my faith and while the days passed, inspiration to address this subject came. I would like to share this blogpost with you all.

Wherever you are, wherever you live, dear Tom Hiddleston, dear Hiddlestoners, dear everyone who's reading this! :: I'm sending you my love, all good thoughts and I wish that you are safe and healthy. Please be kind for everyone around you, offer a helpful hand where you can and pray for the world to get better real, real soon! ::

With love & health,

Nicole from the Netherlands

πŸ’“ "Earth Keeps On Turning" πŸ’—

Over the entire world, country after country is (partly) locked down. However, still earth keeps on turning.

We humans are used to have full planned days, mostly let to the feeling of running out of time. Now we are forced to take a step backwards. The schools are closed, restaurants, bars and stores are closed too and those able to take their jobs home, work from home.

Events, big or small + other social activities are cancelled and holidays we were delighted towards, are postponed. Meanwhile, earth keeps on turning.

The streets are empty and awfully silent. The daily life imprinted in our systems, seems to have stopped. But life is absolutely not shut down! Earth keeps on turning and so does life. A lot is happening around us. In short: the world is changing, now more clearly visible than ever. Not all changes are likable, but occasionally they are needed. One has developed a huge desire for a change, the other feels only fear (for changes). Running away is no option. The situation now standing in front of us, confronts and affects all of us. The question is, how are you dealing with what comes your way? I cannot judge about what someone else is feeling or is going through. All I can say is that I do not choose fear. I choose love, a choice we all have!

These times do certainly invite us to look a little more inside, within ourselves. Are you happy? Is there anything you want to change? How do you really feel inside? No, we do not stand still. You may now feel that you are forced to stay at home. Fill it the way you want to fill it (as long as it doesn’t go against your country’s official rules, they’re currently still different everywhere). Perhaps you've always wanted to do something artistically or, like me, have some extra time to for writing. That’s given to you now. I see beautiful actions for the most vulnerable groups of people getting created. The media is full of like everything and I see a lot flashing my timeline, but the kind of messages I pay attention to are the ones created from love. They are the ones that light up our very own earth.

There’s less traffic, less people are using the public transport and there’s less air traffic because worldwide flights are cancelled. "You'll Never Walk Alone"

πŸ’™Originally, my post had ended here. However, I got so inspired by the the warmhearted action of Sander Hoogendoorn from the Dutch radio channel 3FM. His idea was to let to hear Gerry & the Pacemakers song 'You'll Never Walk Alone' at the same time, on different radio stations. At Friday the 20th, on 8:45 (Dutch time) the song eventually was on 46 Dutch radio stations. But that wasn't all. In total it was to be heard on more than 180 stations in more than 30 countries! (Among others  England, Belgium, Germany and Romania)

I have to share the video 3FM made from all the fragments they received from all kinds of different radio stations and from people who listened:

I want to end this blogpost with the lyrics of this song. Something I still 100% support is: “#MusicConnects!”, But no matter how you do it, when it comes from your heart you spread love and inspire others to do so too. πŸ’›

When you walk through a storm

Hold your head up high

And don't be afraid of the dark

At the end of a storm
There's a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark

Walk on through the wind

Walk on through the rain

Though your dreams be tossed and blown

Walk on, walk on

With hope in your heart

And you'll never walk alone

You'll never walk alone

Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone

You'll never walk alone

A small amount of all stations, had to cut and paste a bit to make it fit

War Horse

War Horse

On my 'Hiddles 39th Birthday' post I already mentioned that every year on his birthday, I do try to watch a movie/series in which Tom Hiddleston has a role in. Last year I had watched a part of The Hollow Crown and the year before that I had watched Midnight In Paris. This year I watched War Horse and thereby I've broke the chain of watching something of him that I hadn't seen yet, because I have seen War Horse once. Although, that was long before I've discovered the Thor/Avengers movies, so I couldn't remember much about Tom's role. So perhaps you can say I've now watched War Horse from a total different view! I really do like to write reviews/blogs about films, so I thought let's do a blog about a Tom Hiddleston movie!

Even though I'm talking about a film from 2011, in case someone who hasn't seen this film yet and is planning to, I'll warn: There are spoilers below.

Years ago I had already experienced War Horse as a breathtaking film and seen from the fact that war related films are not so easily forgotten and because I have a weakness for animal films, parts of War Horse were still very present inside my memory. War Horse is the story of Joey, the horse seen as a Wonder Horse and the relationship that has developed between him and a young man named Albert. After several threats of taking the horse done by a horrible man named Lyon when the father faces trouble in paying their monthly payment for the farm they are living in, the father decides to sell Joey to the army who are seeking horses for World War I. Albert arrives too late, Joey is already sold to Captain Nicholls (Tom Hiddleston), who admits he totally underpaid for a well trained horse as Joey is, but he just hadn't had more to offer. During the whole film Joey manages to touch the hearts of many human he crossed paths with, Tom Hiddleston's character is the first one who separated the Wonder Horse from one of the concerning humans.

Now I make it sound like Nicholls is just as horrible as Lyon, who I mentioned earlier. He definitely is not! (See the GIF on the side, I see the opposite of a horrible man. πŸ˜‡)

The GIF where Tom Hiddleston takes off the hat and makes the average woman faint, is where he promises Albert to take very well care of Joey and if he can, he would even bring back to horse after the war is over. Scenes between Joey & Albert I found very touching, the same is to be said about Joey's following 'owners', starting with Captain Nicholls who plainly has sympathy for Albert. We get to see him making a drawing of Joey, meant for Albert. Just like Tom (I adore the pictures with him and the horse, and see the bonus picture at the end of this blog!), Nicholls has heart for animals, so despite of the circumstances, Joey still is in good hands.

Tom & Benedict

I knew that War Horse had been the first film Tom Hiddleston & Benedict Cumberbatch both portrayed in. War Horse, a film set in times of war, was the beginning of a still standing as strong as a rock beautiful friendship between Tom & Benedict. Also I very much enjoyed the first scene that Loki and Dr. Strange..- uhh.. Captain Nichols and Major Jamie Stewart shared. Two great actors who put their heart and soul into the character they are portraying.

After seeing Infinity War I've came across of a meme once that showed Loki arriving in heaven, meeting up with other decreased Hiddleston characters. One of them was Captain Nicholls, so besides that I already had guessed it, I knew his faith. I just totally didn't expected to see it happen so soon in the movie! I really thought Tom had some more screen time. This once again proofs that he doesn't need much screen time to stand out!

Both Topthorn (Steward's black horse) and Joey were fallen into the hands of the German. This ends with a beautiful evening 'shot' as we see the wicks of the mill distracting the view of another cruel war act, created with other kinds of 'shots' that I wouldn't refer as beautiful.. But luckily, in the next scene the horses are looking in the beautiful innocent eyes of Emilie, their new next young owner. Seeing her hiding the horses into her bedroom, training Joey in the hope of learning him some tricks, is one brighter part of the movie. Although her story too has a sad history. Emilie lives on her grandfather's farm and her parents are (recently) decreased. She also suffers from a illness but as stubborn and brave as she is, she's determined to ride Joey! And she does so but you do see it coming, all good things do come to an end. Here another innocent, pure heart breaks into a million pieces when both the horses are brutally taken away from her.

Another thing I definitely like about animal related films is the developing relationship among animals. Mostly it starts with some hostility during the meet but in the end that has made a huge turn. (Well okay, this movie didn't had a lot of hostility among the two horses, perhaps for them there was enough war around them already..) War Horse really has some stunning shots in where the friendship of Joey and the black Topthorn (Hey, there's Thor in the name) was to be seen. True friendship is wanting to sacrifice yourself for the other and Joey definitely had no doubt in doing so. πŸ’”πŸŽ

Here's a list of animal-related movies that have touched me to:

  • Two Brothers
  • White Fang
  • Call of the Wild
  • Homeward Bound
  • Life of Pi
  • Lion King/Jungle Book
  • Bambi
  • Dolphin Tale
  • Hachi
  • 101 Dalmatians, Lady & The Tramp, Frank & Frey
  • Black Beauty
  • A Dog's Purpose
  • We Bought a Zoo
  • Dolittle Movie
  • A Dog's Way Home
And many many more.

Just like about Loki, I can go on and on about this film. I mean, the no man's land scene and the truce Joey had created. Wow!

It's really in the details and films who are able to have beginning-details return later/in the end, mostly do something to me. They really get me. One strong detail is the regimental pennant Albert attached to Joey during saying goodbye. It later touched Tom Hiddleston's hands (😊), was used in the training done by the young girl Emilie and finally made it's way..- (Just look the film again because it's worth the watch until the very end!) In the beginning of the film Albert had learnt Joey to come to him when he made an owl sounded-like whistle. Not to mention I had experienced those scenes as highly funny when seeing Joey run over everything like a dog would do to get to his owner. When Albert did this again during the end of the movie when he heard about a Wonder Horse while he was being treated for his eyes, try to keep your eyes dry.. Really hard right?

And here's the bonus Tom Hiddleston I mentioned as a closure of this blog post!

First anniversary of Goddess of Loki on Blogspot!

First anniversary of Goddess of Loki on Blogspot!

Blog created on February the 10th, a day after Tom's 38th birthday.

From February 10, 2019 to February 10, 2020 I wrote in total (this one included) 69 blogposts.

After I had watched War Horse last afternoon on Tom's birthday I realized that this blog's birthday was coming up soon too. One year has passed now, because I made this blog one day after Tom's birthday. It was one day too late when I decided I wanted to have my own blog, no actually one week too late because there were so many beautiful things to share in Tom's Spirit Week (so I just re-shared them a week later)! Because today it's my blog's first anniversary, I would like to look back on a few of this blog's posts, published in the first month! I think it's funny (and sometimes a bit embarrassed) to look back on your older writings, whether they are blogs or fanfiction writings. Not only do you improve your writing style in a year, but often you'll cross writings and you think: "Have I really written that? Was that my opinion?" I hope this sounds familiar, otherwise I'm the only one haha.

I had a lot to write about in February 2019 because it had 16 posts! However, my first blogpost was a very short one, basically just a status where I shared that I had watched The Hollow Crown for the very first time the day before, on his birthday. My second one was named Favorite Tom Friday, dedicated to #TomsSpiritWeek. It was for the day you had to pick your favorite 9 of Tom from his 37th to his 38th birthday. It was a lot of text, here's a small part of it:

(Note: I'll add "2020:" in commentary I've added now.)

1. Favorite Tom Hiddleston Friday (<-- link to post)

4. Suddenly out of the blue, there was this picture of Tom Hiddleston & Josh Wilson posted by Wilson Worldwide Productions Something about a secret project. I‘m still very curious, because we still don‘t know what it is! I think it‘s something very spectacular! We got something to look forward to! He also posted a second photo (that‘s the one in the collage) in which he tagged me & a few other Tom Hiddleston/Loki fan accounts in. That totally made my day, so thank you Josh!

2020: Is it just me, or do we still NOT KNOW?

6. On the 30th October Tom and Josie Rourke talked at the Alan Howard / JW3 Speaker Series. It was a lovely and inspiring interview, I was able to watch later on Youtube. He talked about how he stepped out of his comfort zone, which has inspired me to do the same. When I hear this man talk about acting; whether it‘s in film, series or theatre; it‘s so so visible I‘m listening to a man who found his passion and as I said it before: He truly has put his heart and soul it. Perhaps I do not know how to properly bring this into words, but I hope you understand what I mean. I think many people can see him as an example, given the fact for example how he has grown in +/- 20 years. From liking to do voices as a kid to this passion and talent which goes much deeper than just the word ‘acting’. He does inspire people to go take their passion to the next level as well.

2020: Still one of my favorite interviews of Tom!

7. Tom Hiddleston‘s first social media post in (what was it?) 2 years: Loki. More stories to tell. More mischief to make. More to come. That literally broke the internet! What Ralph Breaks the Internet? No, Tom Hiddleston breaks the internet! The #LokiSeries (#Disney+) confirmed by the man himself! I‘m so excited for this whole thing. Patient, patient.. But I‘m freaking out inside! Can‘t wait!

2020: Now we finally have a first look of the Loki Series! And I still can't wait!

9. This photo is taken by BBC Radio 2 during the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show. It‘s truly one of my favorite pictures yet! There he spoke about ‘Betrayal’ which will be hitting the theatre in London next month. He also spoke a little about the Loki Series & about the Nightmanager season 2, but he wasn‘t allowed to say much about it yet. What better to start your Friday morning (it was a Friday) with then listening to Tom‘s voice on the radio! They also had some real good music in-between the talks. I heard ABBA, Journey (Don‘t stop Believing) & a live performance of a song of No Doubt. Also they spoke about the film 'Mary Queen of Scots' which premiered that week. I found it very impressive!

2020: Okay still nothing on the Night Manager Season 2, but wow Betrayal London is almost a year ago now! Last December in my Top 2000 Music blogpost, I also addressed this radio interview when sharing the main reason why I gave Journey's Don't Stop Believing a vote: --> "Ever since my teen years the song Don't Stop Believing came to me on moments when I was about to stop believing.. It's like it's the Universe's way to send me a reminder, a confirmation and it's so beautiful. It's something that gets me emotional too. You know one of my dreams is meeting Tom Hiddleston one day and when he was on the English Radio 2 (betrayal interview) the song Don't Stop Believing was played during that show or after it. And here it comes: Two hours later I switch back to the Dutch Radio 2 and on the very same moment there it is: Don't Stop Believing from Journey!" <-- It was such a magical moment! And the ABBA song was 'Waterloo', one that now also makes me think of Tom every time I hear it!

In a top 9 of 2019-2020 probably Loki in Endgame, Tom Hiddleston on SDCC, Tom's posts about the Loki Series, Betrayal London & Betrayal Broadway won't be missing!

My other two edits I made for Favorite Tom Friday were 9 of my favorite Tom Hiddleston photo's/moments/my fave roles of Tom other than Loki + 9 favorite photo's of Tom as Loki:

To stay in the spirit of Tom's birthday, I shared a scene of when it was Loki's birthday in my Loki fanfiction. Click the link if you want to read it. I'm currently editing my story, what I had posted here is obviously not edited yet.

Still one of my favorite posts. I talked Thor the Dark World, one or maybe my favorite Marvel movies all time! 😊 Again, here's a small part:

Favorite Introduction: In the Avengers we see Loki looking as a mess at first sight, (Of course he made all women worldwide faint a few scenes later, with him staring in their souls while the guards guide him away. Even Bruce Banner got distracted by that look!) here we see the opposite. I can‘t help but saying that he just looks extremely attractive in those chains! I don‘t know how many time was meant to be passed, but he surely doesn't look like he just got Hulk Smashed! The way we get to see him walking towards -there‘s the minor point..- Odin. In between he asked his mother if he made her proud. Also I like the scenes with Frigga and Loki very much. If you ask me I think, despite that he wasn't her real son, she favored Loki over Thor. Yes, I love this introduction. I have played this DVD like a thousand of times, so I usually just skip the prologue part and my movie starts with this scene. :)

Favorite quote:

"If it were easy, everyone would do it."

And of course, off-screen at the end of the scene: "Ta-daa!"

2020: And somewhere in this post I wrote: "Is it an idea to rerelease this film, with nothing but Loki commentary during the whole film?" I still would sign for this haha!

Favorite Illusion:

In my opinion, too much Loki scenes got cut in Thor the Dark World. (Perhaps because otherwise they could have better named the movie: Loki the Dark World..) But if I should name one they should not had cut out, I‘m not naming this one. I‘m naming the scene in which you see Loki scream loudly after he just heard about his mother‘s death. In the movie we only get to see him moving his furniture, while this extended scene showed much more of his emotions! It showed that he cared deeply, that also the God of Mischief is a man with real feelings. Of course for us it‘s obvious Loki isn't heartless, even though his actions and words have not always shown that. We read it off his face (right?). But when I‘m talking to someone who doesn't understand his character, they describe him as a selfish, heartless dirty bull. Unfortunately for some, Loki still is a misunderstood character. But luckily, the deleted scenes are out there for us to see. And this is one of my favorite because it‘s full of fun! Loki dressed as a King, raising Mjolnir and getting a lot of glory from the folks. An illusion created by Loki. The scene in Thor: Ragnarok (Hela demanding the folks to kneel before her), reminds me of this scene. Loki really has developed himself in Ragnarok, but sometimes I think it‘s funny to wonder: Is Loki really the adopted one? ;)

Favorite ending: Once you have seen the after credits scenes, you don‘t have to see them again. At least, that‘s what I thought. For me the movie starts with Loki and ends with him + the lovely Thor the Dark World music which comes after. Once I said: "Marvel shall never outdo the strong vibe this ending had.", and several movies further I still agree with myself. The best fatherly advise Thor ever got, didn't even came from his father. As if Loki just knew Thor would have turned around while walking away (imagine if he did..), he transformed (looking just as attractive like in the introduction) back to himself and softly said: 'No, thank you..' Gold!

2020: ^^ Still saying AMEN to this!

I had found a website with all kinds of questions to introduce yourself to your readers. Funny to read it back tho, let's see if I still agree with my 'one year ago' self:

"By start the people who know me don‘t call me 'Goddess of Loki', most of them don‘t even know I got social media accounts named after that, let along if they even know who Loki is. No, people call me Nicole because well.. that‘s my name. And at the moment I‘m still 27 years old. I do live in a very small town in a country shaped like a hand glove. Do you know what country I mean? (The Netherlands.)"

2020: ^^ That's not right, I'm 28 now lol.

"1. What’s your favorite way to spend a weekend? Watching tv (shows, films with or without Tom in them), writing, reading, in general relaxing and sometimes I like to go out with friends.

2. What type of music are you into? Rock music mainly! I really like 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s."

2020: Nothing changed there.

"3. What was the best vacation you ever took and why? London 2017, it‘s just an amazing city!

4. Where’s the next place on your travel bucket list and why? Ah, I thought this question would come.. Scotland! I would really like to go to Scotland! I think it‘s a really beautiful country with stunning nature. And I‘d like to see Lake Lochness!"

2020: Well, I'm going to Glastonbury this year, so perhaps question 3 would change. And question 4 would not be right, even though Scotland stands very high on my bucket list!

"9. What are you most proud of in the last year? How much I have grown in my English writing. You should see something I wrote like two years ago, I‘m still working on some adjustments in my older work."

2020: That answer is still correct! I think it's amazing how much you can learn in one year!

"12. Who do you admire most in the world? Do I seriously need to answer this question?? The answer is the person I dedicates this blog to! But besides him I also really admire my family members and some people who had to deal with a lot of difficulty."

2020: πŸ’“

"21. If you could invite 3 people, dead or alive, to a dinner party, who would they be, and why? Tom Hiddleston, Kurt Cobain & Chris Hemsworth. This would be the weirdest party ever.."

2020: Why hadn't I invited Robert Downey Jr? He's definitely invited, so I've got to un-invite someone. Obviously that'll be Kurt Cobain or Chris Hemsworth..

"24. What fictional place / movie universe would you most like to go? Asgard! Dreaming away with Loki below the beautiful Asgard sky.."

2020: Who wouldn't?

(Then came a Valentine post, a post about the Raffle for meeting Tom Hiddleston, first news about the Loki Series and news about Betrayal)

5. Stuttgart Loki Funko Pop Custom

In February 2019 I also received my Stuttgart Loki custom I had requested. I still love him, he's so adorable! More pictures in the blogpost of February 23rd.

6. Throwback to Tom‘s Spirit Week: Good Will Thursday

My last post from February 2019 was dedicated to a charity for animals, my subject for Thursday's theme of 2019's Tom's Spirit Week:

Small part:

#TomsSpiritWeek: For today‘s theme #GoodWillThursday I chose to support charities. Since I already have donated for both of the Tom Hiddleston birthday Fundraisers for Unicef, I chose Animals Syria - CatConnect. I chose to donate the exact amount I had paid for an event which got canceled (and so was refunded to me).

#CatConnect is on my list for charities I wanted to support since I saw the episode of husky Zeus on Dogs (Netflix documentary). As I got a big heart for animals and I want them to live a happy and safe life, the episode touched me very much. The episode is about a Syrian refugee. His dog Zeus remained in Syria for several years before enlisting the help of Animals Syria to make the reunion possible.

2020: ^^ I don't know if it's still on Netflix, but 'Dogs' is really worth the watch!

πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’œπŸ’›

Compared to last year and seen how busy I am lately, I know I won't make it to 16 posts for February this year! But since I watched War Horse last night and because I like to write film blogs/reviews, I think my next blog will be about War Horse!

I want to thank everyone who has followed me & has been reading my blogs this year. Up to another year of fun, lots of Hiddleslove & lots of Loki's mischief!

See you soon!

Love,

xx
